This
is a competitive classic rally across France for cars built between the 1950's and 1970's that competed in
the original Tour de France Auto. The Tour Auto entry list reads like a 'Who's
Who' of the motorsport world; drivers include Stirling Moss, Jean Ragnotti, Danny Sullivan,
Walter Rohrl and Formula 1 engine designers. The cars include ex-Le Mans winning Ferraris,
Ford GT40's, Porsche 906's, AC Cobras and Formula 1-engined Matra's. Almost half the entries
were Ferrari's, the remainder being mainly ex-works Porsche 911s and other similar exotica. Cars must be FIA- registered to enter.
There are two classifications, the Competition Class and Regularity Class (or Monotony!). The Competition Class is handicapped to
ensure parity between the vastly differing cars entered. The Monotony section entrants must complete stages as near to their predicted time as possible.
