Rockingham (Long Circuit)

October 19th 2002

This was the last race of the 2002 Monoposto season. I went to test on the Friday, after a 3am start from Reading! We used the infield circuit. 

Qualifying

I was 13th from 17 cars, with a time of 1:46.4, 7.3 secs off the pole time set by Peter LeBas.

Race

I got an average start, only making up 1 place to 12th, but in the approach to Turn 2 (Deene), I overtook 6 cars and ended up in 5th place. I maintained 5th for 2 laps, but unfortunately my gear linkage broke as I was changing down into Turn 11 (Gretton) and I span off. I limped back to the pits stuck in 3rd gear and retired. 

I finished overall in 17th position from 32 drivers in the Monoposto 2000cc category. I was fairly pleased with this, as I only had 6 finishes.
