In Thursdays testing, I had the familiar misfire problems. The sister car from Azteca Motorsport
in Malaga (owned by William White) was also running.
The test session ended for me after 12 laps due to a rear hub failure, possibly caused by
the wheel being incorrectly fitted or having loosened. I was unable to get
a replacement or borrow one from the sister car, so my day was over. |
Qualifying
On Saturday morning, I qualified 13th out of
17. I was reasonably happy with this as the car was suffering with a misfire and
very old tyres. I was 6.4 secs off pole, which was worrying though.

Race The car's
fuelling problems reared their head and I stalled on the grid again, ending up following the ambulance down the main straight a
long time after the other cars had vanished from sight.
The misfire became intermittent, making the car very difficult to drive,
especially when putting power down coming out of the corners. I finally
caught sight of the tail end of the field after a few laps, and ended the race
in 14th place by passing Doug McLay on the fast exit of Camp corner. My fastest
lap was 3 secs off the race winners, and was the 7th fastest of the race. Race
won by Jonathon Lewis. |
